L-O-V-E + Ice Cream Friday

How can you not love this city in the Spring? Everyone is in a better mood, the weather is gorgeous, and they are opening a Rita's water ice place in my hood!

Love Park

One of my favorite things about the east coast is their love of ice cream. In Florida, we have ice cream weather all of the time, it's no big deal. But on the east coast, it's the signal of summer, longer days and the shore.

Green Fountain

In fact, I've invented a new club at my work. It is called, "Ice Cream Friday". There are no membership dues, and so far consists of a favorite co-worker and myself. Anyone can join. The only rule is that you must consume one ice cream cone each Friday. I'd prefer if you also get sprinkles or jimmies as well, but that's up to you.

My mom's shawl is really coming along now, after all of the false starts. It's a great outdoor knitting project, since the seasilk is nice and cool. Perhaps I won't need a knitting hiatus this summer after all.

Lace Ribbon Shawl

Speaking of outdoors, is everyone getting psyched up for Maryland Sheep and Wool next weekend? My crew is going, so I hope to see some of you there! You'll probably find me by the alpaca pens or the funnel cake stand. A girl has to have priorities...

A Rita's up by you? Cool! I still haven't been to the one up by Whole Foods. You know they are expanding into FL, right? My cousin really is expanding.

Thanks for the comment! I'm so jealous you're going to wool & sheep, what's not to like about wool and funnel cake? Funnel cake is the most Philly-summer time thing for me. Mmmmm....

That's it. If you comment on this post, you are officially a member of Ice Cream Friday.

My co-worker thinks I'm going to make membership cards with dates to punch out...

If you know me, that is like a dream come true!!! Ha ha ha

Sheep & wool is over the SAME days as my final critique! My crits go from friday to sunday, so I'm missing s&w again. It seems to always work out that way- I've never actually been, even when I was living in Baltimore. It's tragic.

nevermind that i'm babysitting and i kinda wasn't interested to go. i've never been so i don't know what i'm missing but i do wanna go sometime. but it wasn't the yarn or the roving that interested me, it was the funnel cake.

the funnel cake.

Don't forget to check your Philly Weekly on Wednesdays in preparation for Ice Cream Friday - Rita's usually runs a 2fer coupon!

That shawl is gorgeous. I recently fell in love with the seasilk and hope to get some this summer. (I have a lot of other yarn I have to use up first before I buy more). We've been having such cold weather, I still haven't gone for ice cream. :( But I made hot fudge the other night and so have been having that at home with vanilla ice cream and fresh strawberries.
