Impromptu Flowers

My new space makes it so easy to decide to create spur of the moment hand carved stamps.

Stamp

I carved a quick flower, printed shades of reds and oranges, and used the oil based ink I have, since I don't have any stamping inks. I covered an old attempt at goccoing, that had way too much negative space. It was fun to create and send and write lots of thank you cards and notes to friends.

Studio Space

If you have never carved a stamp, Geninne Zlatkis has an amazing and fun to watch video tutorial here.

She is quite prolific, and uses such vibrant colors in her work. I have purchased two of her prints in her Etsy shop, and will surely purchase more in the future.

I've been wanting to make a handcarved stamp for a while. When I was a kid, I used to cut up rubberbands and glue them down to wooden blocks in geometric patterns, then use the blocks as stamps. Why don't I have that motivation as an adult? haha
