"Um, because there's so many balls of yarn it's become unmanageable for travel," I replied.
Exhibit one: Bowl O' Yarn. You see, Mike and I were watching a movie, and him sitting on the couch was hindering my color selection. The lightbulb flashed and I kindly asked him to get me a large bowl for my yarn. Problem solved.
It certainly worked, I finished my first legwarmer this morning. All 26". Here's a sneak peek below.
Mmmm. It looks like a Noro Sandwich.
I'm not going to model them until I finish the second one. I don't want to ruin the surprise for you (and oh, will they be cute!). Plus, I should probably suck it up and shave my legs before my "fashion shoot".
Alright, no more knitting until I finish my gocco prints. Now there's some motivation!

Beautious!!!! Now I am going to need a pair. But I don't know, 26 inches of ribbing? You take the prize :)
ReplyDeleteDo you knit English or Continental style? I learned and always used English, but I found that for 1x1 ribbing, Continental make it a breeze!!
ReplyDeleteYou amaze me! You make everything far more beautiful than I could even imagine. I love the legwarmers and their illustration, I love the rainbow discussion and pictures in your previous related entry.
ReplyDeleteOh! I can't wait to see them on you! The one already looks lovely!

I spent part of the day with a potter friend who just got bitten by the knitting bug. She LOVES the portability, as do I. I'm gearing up for a hat! Wish me luck.
ReplyDeleteI am honored to have met the first of the pair in person! Can't wait for its mate! These are so amazing and the Noro feels yummy!

You and your awesome colors have been such a pick-me-up in the midst of the totally blah weather I'm livin' in here. I'm seriously impressed with the stripes in the legwarmers, I love your multi-colored sketchbook, and WISH I could have been at that workout with you and Susan. Why no photo of that?
ReplyDeleteI think you and Lisa will perhaps be modeling yours together!

can i snatch that bowl? it looks like something i'd want to dive right into. they have larger-than-life knitting needles the size of telephone poles. why not a giant bowl of yarn? and can someone teach me to draw more than stock figured with swirls and me trying to desperately call them monkeys? it's so sad.
ReplyDeleteman i can't wait to see those finished! they look fab!
ReplyDeletehey mariss...go visit my blog because you make my day!!
ReplyDeleteDoes it make me weird that the phrase "Noro sandwich" made me hungry?
